You came back!
Oh Man, are you awesome!
Speaking of backs, I have pulled a muscle in mine. All day I have been walking around like poor Tobey up there.
That is not going to stop me from delivering on my promise! In our last newsletter, I mentioned that I would provide you with a break down of all of the recent videos from each of my three channels. That will always be a given with this newsletter.
I also said I would share a few of my favorite female main characters from my universe with you. This is all in anticipation for the first piece of fiction I will be sharing with you, on February 4th!
Ok, so as the pain meds kick in, let’s talk about the shows that came out this week:
Shari T and I were very sad to say goodbye to our recent favorite show - YELLOWJACKETS.
I had suspected that covering YELLOWJACKETS would stir up interest in the ANCHORPETE channel, but I didn’t realize how active our community would become!
As we went from Episode One all the way to the Season Finale, at Episode Ten, the viewership grew and grew. Not only that, but our viewers wrote up lengthy comments filled with their speculation about where the show was going. We had a lot of fun, and I think Shari T and I made a few new friends.
Here is the link to the YELLOWJACKETS SEASON FINALE REVIEW

YELLOWJACKETS’ SOPHIE THATCHER did not return as Drash for Episode Four of THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT but this cute little bastard made his debut:
Brian and I talked about this rat catcher droid, and all of the other toy inspiring characters in this most recent episode of COMIC BOOKS TRANSFORMED.
Brian and I also began our discussion on the brand new HBO MAX show, PEACEMAKER. All of this can be found in our newest episode right HERE

Last but certainly not least is the most recent episode of THE LASSER CAST.

What were some of your favorite HORROR movies of 2021? I shouldn’t be the only one talking here. Let’s get a discussion going!
Before we talk about some of my favorite female MCs, I have to share that !!!!! DISCLAIMER !!!!! from last newsletter:
I am about to show you a series of amazing illustrations. I do not own the rights to any of these images. I am not claiming to have created ANY of them. I have pictures for each of the characters that I am about to describe, but many are from years ago, and I cannot cite the original artist. If you recognize any of this artwork, let me know who it belongs to, so we can rectify the situation.
REBECCA TAYLOR
Who is the model that posed for this picture? I wish I knew! My friend Nate created this image to represent Rebecca Taylor, who has never been a main character in any of our campaigns, but has always been present. There is only one novel that I have ever come close to finishing the first draft for. It is called SHARP ENOUGH and Rebecca Taylor is the main character. In SHARP ENOUGH, we are introduced to the secret organization that controls all of the major events that occur on Earth - THE SPIRE COUNCIL . One of the main missions of the Spire Council is to prevent the idea that magic is real from permeating the general consciousness. Rebecca was born into one of the thirteen powerful families that support the Spire Council. Her father is an extremely powerful man, and has kept Rebecca and her brother completely in the dark about the true ways of the world. Rebecca has spent most of her life trying to uncover her father’s secrets and the novel, SHARP ENOUGH, is about what happens when she finally uncovers tangible evidence on the Spire Council.
Pronounced Eye-Yah Con-Eye, this elven ninja is one of Shari T’s favorite characters she ever created. As you get to know me, you will probably pick up on an annoying habit I have. My family members and friends will often come up with the basic ideas behind a character or story, and then I will take that four sentence idea and create a seventeen page Google Doc, filled with pictures and timelines, to expand on it. When my wife created Iah for a campaign, her backstory went something like this - Iah is from an East Asian inspired land. She practices magic and left her family to seek out adventure.
I took that and ran with it. Iah Kani is from the world of GREYJEM, specifically the country of Noco. On Greyjem, there are two types of elves - Shade Elves and Luminary elves (Think Drow and High Elves from D and D). It is almost universally accepted across Greyjem that shade elves cannot be trusted and are considered extremely dangerous. It is rare to find a shade elf living among other races, whereas Luminary elves are welcomed. Noco is the one place in the world where the people have a completely opposite belief.
Hundreds of years ago, during a devastating event known as the AGE OF ASH the races of Noco tried to escape the flames of attacking dragons. They sought refuge underground, while their homes burned in the land above. The shade elves that lived below them welcomed the other races, and kept them safe for a generation. When it was safe enough to return to the surface, the shade elves joined the other races, and became the ruling class of a Noco reborn.
Now, generations later, luminary elves are looked at as inferior to shade elves, in Noco, and none of the other races trust them.
Iah Kani is from a long line of luminary elves who have operated in the shadows of Noco, using their ancient martial arts skills to carry out mercenary work. Iah is only three hundred and twenty years old, which is barely a teenager by elven standards. Even at such a young age, she had grown tired of the oppression of the shade elves, and fled Noco. Travelling across the sea, Iah Kani has befriended a handful of adventurers who were more than grateful to have her on their team.
LOGAVA
Did I mention that we have vampires? We have a TON of vampires in our stories.
There are multiple vampire bloodlines in the BALANCING ACT UNIVERSE , and they all have different origins. The most ancient and powerful vampire bloodline is the Thebrillian Bloodline, and Logava is the mother of all Thebrillian vampires. I was completely in love with Anne Rice’s VAMPIRE CHRONICLES when I was a teenager. THE VAMPIRE LESTAT and QUEEN OF THE DAMNED have definitely influenced the vampire mythology I created for my worlds. I am definitely honest enough to admit that Logava is heavily influenced by Akasha, the original vampire from Anne Rice’s mythology.
Logava is like a force of nature, and she has been kept in exile for thousands of years. If she was ever able to return to a populated world, within days that world would be filled with two things - vampires and corpses. On Earth, a few of her remaining Thebrillian children want to find her and help her restart their bloodline. Their quest to find Logava was the Catalyst for the very first of our Roleplaying adventures.
